Read Ephesians 4:17–32 aloud slowly. Let Scripture lead the conversation; a lyric or emotional response is a starting point to examine, not the authority that settles meaning. DISCUSS · 15 MINUTES What change of life does Paul describe before he speaks about speech and anger? What does the passage tell us to put away? What does it tell us to practice instead? How does God’s forgiveness in Christ shape the command to forgive? What is the difference between taking responsibility and demanding that someone immediately trust us again? RESPOND · 10 MINUTES Read the existing journal prayer together or pray in your own words. Allow people to pass rather than requiring a personal disclosure. Keep shared experiences private unless someone’s safety requires appropriate help. Each person may name one practice for the coming week: listening before answering, apologizing honestly, refusing gossip, or speaking words that help.
