When you want certainty before you will obey

You check the message again and revise the plan once more. You want to know how the future will turn out before you take the next step. King of Glory by My Side directs that fear toward Jesus. The question is larger than which opportunity will work: are we living to please the King who died for us and rose again?

Come through the mercy Christ provides

We cannot negotiate our way into God’s favor. Promises to work harder, serve longer, or become more useful do not pay for sin. Christ, the sinless Son, gave Himself at the cross and rose from the dead. Reconciliation with God is received through faith in Him.

If you have been hiding sin, confess it and turn to the Savior. If you belong to Him, do not make yesterday’s failure a reason to stay away from His Word or defend what was wrong. His mercy is the ground for repentance and renewed obedience, not permission to keep resisting Him.

Faith looks toward life with the Lord

Second Corinthians 5:1–10 speaks about mortal bodies, life with the Lord, and the Spirit given as God’s guarantee. Walking by faith belongs to this hope. Paul’s response is to make pleasing Christ his aim, knowing that all must appear before Christ’s judgment seat.

That passage cannot be reduced to confidence that a business plan, relationship, or ministry opportunity will succeed. Later in the chapter, Paul says Christ died and rose so that those who live would no longer live for themselves. Faith directs our lives toward Him, including when obedience is costly or unnoticed.

An unanswered message does not reveal everything God is doing. Test decisions by Scripture, seek wise counsel, and take your actual responsibilities seriously. A strong feeling does not make an action God’s command. Where Scripture is clear, uncertainty about the result does not excuse disobedience.

Take the next faithful step

What duty have you delayed while waiting for a more exciting sign? Tell the truth. Keep the commitment you rightly made. Ask forgiveness where you have sinned. Seek help where you lack wisdom. Receive necessary rest and care instead of treating exhaustion as evidence of devotion.

Ask the Spirit for courage to follow Christ in the work before you. Salvation is His gift, not the reward for making every decision correctly. Those He saves are called to live for Him. The future we can rely on is the one He has promised, not the outcome we have imagined.

A prayer to carry

Lord Jesus, You died and rose so that Your people would live for You. Forgive me for making control of the future more important than obedience. I trust You for salvation. By Your Spirit, give me wisdom, courage, and a heart willing to please You even when the result is uncertain. Amen.
