A Prayer for Forgiveness After Hurtful Words
Cruel words expose a heart that needs the mercy of God. Turn from sin, trust the crucified and risen Christ, and let His grace shape the way you speak and live.
Let the mercy you received move through you.
Being hurt does not excuse hurting someone else. Ephesians 4 calls believers to repent of destructive speech and forgive because God has forgiven them in Christ.
Let God search what you keep defending.
Psalm 139 ends with a searching prayer. Bring defended sin into the light, trust the cleansing Christ provides, and follow where His Word calls you to change.
Forgiven in Christ. Called to forgive.
Ephesians calls believers to put away malice because God has forgiven them in Christ. Past harm deserves care; it does not give us permission to repay another person with sin.
You can lean before the trembling stops.
Psalm 121 directs God's people to the Lord who keeps them. Bring Him your fear without pretending to be strong; suffering does not cancel the hope believers have in Christ.
The God who begins the work is faithful.
God's promise in Philippians 1:6 belongs to His people in Christ. His faithfulness gives us reason to repent, depend on His Spirit, and keep growing together.
Bring your story into the light.
You can begin by telling God the truth, then speaking with someone trustworthy in your local church. The prayer guides can help you find words; the Grow path can help you take the next step.
