Confess your own sin without an excuse. Distinguish what you chose from harm done to you. Ask for mercy through Jesus Christ and help to turn from what is wrong.

Name your daily needs and the people you are praying for. Ask plainly, with room for God’s wisdom and will. You do not have to claim certainty about an outcome.

Ask for the Spirit’s help to forgive, resist temptation, and practice what God has made clear. Name support you need from another person.
