1 John 1
5 This is the message which we have heard from him and announce to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
6 If we say that we have fellowship with him and walk in the darkness, we lie and don’t tell the truth.
7 But if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say that we haven’t sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
1 John 2
1 My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have a Counselor with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
2 And he is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
3 This is how we know that we know him: if we keep his commandments.
4 One who says, “I know him,” and doesn’t keep his commandments, is a liar, and the truth isn’t in him.
5 But God’s love has most certainly been perfected in whoever keeps his word. This is how we know that we are in him:
6 he who says he remains in him ought himself also to walk just like he walked.

Grace changes more than appearances.
Ephesians calls believers to put off the old life and live as people made new in Christ. Salvation is His gift; repentance and Spirit-enabled obedience belong to the life He gives.
Let God search what you keep defending.
Psalm 139 ends with a searching prayer. Bring defended sin into the light, trust the cleansing Christ provides, and follow where His Word calls you to change.
The Spirit changes the life behind the image.
Public approval cannot reconcile us to God. Christ saves sinners, and His Spirit transforms those who turn to Him, producing obedience that reaches beyond what anyone else sees.

What is sin?
Sin includes what we do, what we refuse to do, and the desires by which we turn from God. Naming it honestly makes room for confession and mercy.
When repentance reaches our words
Ephesians 4 connects the new life in Christ with truth, speech, anger, kindness, and forgiveness. Mercy becomes visible in ordinary conversations.
Ask for forgiveness. Learn to forgive.
Come to God through Jesus with an honest confession. Receive His mercy and ask for help to speak, repair, and forgive with truth and love.
